Every submission to the guestbook is screened by the SL editor for appropriate content before going into the publicly viewed guestbook. Like you or I, the SL editor has a life to live which can cause delays in the guestbook review process. Sometimes this can mean hours and sometimes this can mean days.
With regard to the latest entry, I am seeing it as Oct. 1 so maybe their is someting wrong with the url (i.e. .com versus .org) ?
i went to church on sunday, for my daughter, with my daughter.. i noticed something, they don't count how many are there.
it got me remembering how jw's count count count count at meetings, then put it up on the back bulletin board, then at assemblys and announce it right away, how many went out in service.. more numbers=keeping track of bible studies, placements, family studies..... it goes on and on....why?
i think to guilt members into doing more, if it were all free choice then it would be our decision to come, go, go out in service, etc.
The distinction here Joker10 was "obsessive". It is the contention that Jehovah's Witness cult is obsessed with numbers and counting and stats. The fact that other churches (and you only sited one denomination by the way) count the number of churches does not mean they actually do physical head counts at each service.
To give you an analogy: Just because Ed the Catholic eats 3 meals per day does not make him obsessed with food however Larry the Jehovah's Witness who eats constantly throughout the day and everytime he sees the sight of food he is compelled to eat and is massively overweight is obssessed.

Good vent. Probably everyone on this site is very familiar with the frustration involved as you illustrated above. We have all had those discussions. The words might have been different, the topics different but the attitude the same. As a matter of fact I recall reading JW literature where they were far more harsh about higher education comparing it to exposing yourself to the devil and learning worldly ways as taught in the courses which were secretly inspired by Satan etc etc.
If you ever try pushing harder when they say "I can't recall" by pulling out there own books to show them some will completely freak out on you. I was physically attacked once when I said "That's okay I have the Watchtower published book here it's right on page.....". With another Witness who was willing to refresh their memory by reading their own literature they got mad at me and accused me of producing a book which had sentences altered by Satan. In other words they couldn't even accept the teachings of their own religion (which just goes to show that some of them don't care to dig too deep). This is something that always irritated me (and does about many fundamentalists for that matter): If a JW is prepared to shun family over questioning the teachings of the Watchtower over say blood; if a JW is prepared to abduct thier children and hide them away for years from the spouse who is disfellowshipped for say smoking; if the JW is going to forego higher education; if a JW is going to tithe thier income to Watchtower and buy thier books every year and will thier estate to the Watchtower than you would think they would make sure that they are on solid ground and not just being duped by a cult with beliefs and formal lifestyle policies which change as often as someone's underwear. Some are just brainwashed and some use it as a convenient tool to control others i.e. spouse, children, extended family.
...and i think i may try to wean myself off of caffeine completely.
i've tried over the past 3 or 4 weeks to get myself down to 1 cup of the delicious black beverage in the morning, but alas it seems that my body prefers that i maintain higher levels, and unless i stay ever-vigilant pretty soon i'm right back to 4 or 5 cups a day, not good for my anxiety, relentless insomnia and add, not too mention the dehydration and the teeth discoloration.. has anybody else gone caffeine free?

Yes I went caffiene free for a few years (until Starbuck's came to Canada). I slept better, I was more relaxed and pleasant, my skin complexion looked a few years younger (pores tighter etc.), I was less stuffy in my nose and I urinated less frequently......and yes I should probably give it up again.

I agree witrh Blondie Except I'll take it further. I believe that some of the questions are not from anyone. They are made up in the propoganda department and phrased carefully to allow for an easy BS response.

knowing you don't have to get up for saturday service or a sunday meeting, how does that affect your weekend nights?
Since I never was in a position to have to get up for Saturday service or Sunday meetings I can't really comment on how that would feel but I can tell you that I usually spend my Saturdays and Sundays scrambling to get various chores done. That tends to dictate my evening plans at least as when I go to bed the night before. I am too old to go out partying and night clubbing so my idea of a night out is taking in a dinner and a movie. If I am tired and have alot of activities planned the next day then I will do either dinner or the movie. Often I will use this time to catch up with family and freinds or to go and workout at the gym. Friday and Saturday nights have little significance to me any more at least where partying is concerned. A few years ago I took swing dancing lessons with my honey and we used to take in dinner and swing dancing but it lost it's excitement after a while. Maybe it's time to take different dancing lessons like hip hop - NOT. Just call me Mr. Boring.
